Jump Start to Release MxPx's latest full-length Plans Within Plans on Vinyl LP
February 03, 2012, 09:19:18 AM by jeremy.
As a college sophomore in 1995 studying broadcasting I did a video interview and feature piece about a local skateboarder for the final of one of my video editing courses. Before the widespread use of computers for video editing, I sat for hours editing VHS tape reels on old school editing stations. For this particular project I used a track called "Doing Time" from the MxPx record Life in General, largely known for the band's breakout song "Chick Magnet". Keep in mind, this was all before Jump Start had even released our first record. Fast forward 17 years, and I'm really excited to announce that on April 3, 2012, Jump Start will be releasing the vinyl LP version of MxPx's ninth full length record entitled Plans Within Plans. The first pressing of 2000 will be pressed on black (1000), translucent gold (500), translucent blue (300), and randomly mixed colored vinyl (200). The translucent gold will be exclusive to our mailorder and distribution while the randomly mixed colored vinyl will be exclusive to the band. I literally approved the proofs with the printers today and the lacquers for the record are being cut as I type! STOKED.
Happy New Year

It's 2012 and this could possibly be the busiest year for Jump Start Records. We have confirmed and are still confirming a bunch of great new releases. We'll be slowly announcing these releases as the weeks go by.
The Aspiga/Hanalei 7"s arrived at the office just last week. We have been busy screen printing covers, assembling records, and making button packs. All of the pre-orders are pretty much ready to go. We are waiting to print a special gift to go out with the pre-orders. Everything should be in the mail by the end of this week. Thank you all for your patience with this one. If you haven't picked up a copy, head on over to our store and grab one. It's available on Half Blue/Half Red split and Black vinyl.
Our next release is a 7" from Long Island's, Broadcaster. These gentlemen write alternative rock songs similar to Cheap Girls, The Lemonheads, and The Weakerthans. The 7" will feature two tracks and include a third one as a digital download. All three songs were recorded by the amazing J. Robbins.
The guys in All Eyes West will be doing a tour of the East Coast in February. Most of the dates are posted on our tour dates page. If you can make it out to a show, please do.
That's it for now. As I said, we will be announcing more releases/release dates in the upcoming weeks, so be sure to keep an out on this page. Take care.
